ek hutau so gayo syāma sańga, ab ko aradhai īsa

indrina sithila bhayīń kaiso bina, jyon dehī bina sīsa

asā lagī rahata tanu khāsā jījauń koṭi barīsa

tuma to sakhā syāma sundara ke sakala joga ke īsa

sūradāsa yā rasa kī mahimā, jo pūchaiń jagadīsa

TRANSLATION

Refrain: O Udhau! We do no have ten or twenty hearts. The one that we had has gone away with Syama. Who will now worship the Supreme Lord?

1) Our senses are dimmed without Kesava, like a creature bereft of its heads. Hope remains, though our bodies are worn out, may He live for millions of years

2) You are a friend of Syamasundara, the master of all yogas. Suradasa, the greatness of our love’s sentiment, tells to the Lord of the Universe, should he ask?
