Of
the most commonly heard talas in semi-classical music
is the bhajani tala. As the
name implies, this is almost always heard in bhajans.
The framework requires an off-beat pattern for matras
2, 3, 6, and 7. This is what gives this a special feel whenever it is played.
Some consider this a unique tala, while others claim
it is just another version of Kaherva Tala.
